Volunteer Futures Symposium 2017 Highlights


Volunteer Futures Symposium - World of Opportunity was a huge success. For the 2nd year, Volunteer BC and BCACG have combined their event to offer a cost-effective conference for individuals around BC interested in learning more about volunteerism, non-profits and charities. 

Highlights included Keynote Bill Walters, Diversity onBoard - presented by Vancity set the tone for the event and discussed the importance of diversity in leadership. Second keynote, David Battey, President and Founder of Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC), a nonprofit organization operating in the U.S. and Canada spoke about the importance of increasing service opportunities for youth and helping them develop a lifetime ethic of service.

Other topics were: Updates from the Community Gaming Branch; Volunteer Management Workshops, The Mobile Office and Working with At Risk Youth.

Over 175 delegates from all over BC attended and we look forward to planning the 2018 Event!
